Swim courses in Small Dole, Henfield, in a warm private indoor pool
Hassocks was a small rural village until work began on the London to Brighten Railway line in 1841. The whole area has strong connections with the stone, bronze and Iron ages with artefacts still being dug up in many gardens and new build houses. It was colonised by the Romans as with access to the South Downs, it made a good stronghold and was perfect for farming.
The Jack and Jill windmills are located at the top of the stunning South Downs in Clayton, close to Ditchling. Jill is open to the public and still mills flour today. Jack is one of very few male windmills and was made male after the Anglo Saxon remains that were found during his construction in 1866. In 1973 they became famous when Universal Studios made a film called The Black Windmill, featuring Michael Caine.
Being a rural village, leisure facilities are very limited. We believe this is just one reason that parents looking for baby and toddler swimming lessons, are pleased to travel to just the other side of the A23, to experience what the private swimming pool at Robins Garth can provide. On the main road running through Small Dole, we are only a short drive from Hassocks, Ditchling and Clayton.
Our indoor pool is heated to 33 Deg C, and has free parking along with spacious changing rooms. We are proud to attract only the best swim schools in the area, including Simply Swim, run by Lucinda Hope. If you feel the pool is just what your looking for, have a look at our Partners page above to see which companies swim here.
